I like Drake. If he comes on I'll say "Nice," in a distant sort of way. He's not the best, but he's also a long way away from the worst, especially with Marvin's Room. I love how relaxing this song is. Sure it's sad, but could the instrumental be any more relaxing? Without overdoing, I mean. I'm not saying he should go and add beach sound effects, I'm saying that I once fell asleep to this song on a deceptively comfortable pullout couch. At 1:00 in the morning, this song is magic. I like the addition of his ex on the phone with him, giving the listener the idea that the whole song is being sung into the phone.
"Are you drunk right now?"
"I'm just sayin' you could do better."
I'll give his voice a 7/10 and his instrumental an 8/10. I love kickin it to this song. It's a good airplane song too for some reason.
As a Drake fan this song did turn his career around for him but he also got sued. Majority of music song, beats, instrumentals have all been used but the Artist is what makes the song for what it is. Saying his voice is a 7/10 is degrading when ever he is the most iconic Male hip-hop/R&B artist. The way Drake mixes rapping in with singing is unique and is what puts him over the top. However, I do agree that this songs instrumental is relaxing. As far as an airplane ride not sure, I stay up to date with music so, I would not be kicking it to something old.
